Beautiful Catholic church [but it's no Westminster Abbey :)] in New Trier, MN. This structure built in 1909 stands high on a hill and can be seen for miles.

Red River Mill

from flickr user Tricia V
After going through some trees, over a fence and bypassing a no trespassing sign, the photographer managed to capture an iconic and fading sign on the side of a bygone Red River Milling Company building.
March of the Segways

A Segway tour along the Mississippi River riverfront in downtown Minneapolis.
St. Anthony

from flickr user L/\\VRENCE
Looking south down the mississippi at the new I-35 bridge.
The days started of white with a two inch snowfall over night. Later that day we had some magnificent clouds but it was still cold. It was still cloudy when I was taking this picture, then the bridge was suddenly lit by light. I turned around to a clear blue sky--just like that! I left this location and went for a few pints with friends. When I left the pub it was pouring down with rain. Oh the Minnesota spring!

Strength

The Martin Olav Sabo Bridge (formerly the Midtown Greenway Pedestrian Bridge) in Minneapolis.
(By the way, it's the symmetry of this photo that sealed the deal for me.)
Bergman shack

from flickr user Turn to Clear Vision
Taken in the waning sun earlier this week, this abandoned shack near Stillwater seems to fit the area well given the brown, lifeless landscape surrounding it.
Industrial Sunset

from flickr user austins
While industry seems to have mostly vanished in America -- shipped to far-flung places like China and India -- there are still photo-worthy pockets of skyline-defining smokestacks left in Minnesota as this photo depicts.
Bearded wonders

from flickr user Wild Bill in MN
Four gobblers, looking for a little spring time love.
Turkey photography is more dangerous than turkey hunting in the spring. While hunting, if you convince one of these guys that you are a lonely hen and they come running, you can at least shoot him. With a camera, the only choice is to start making a nest.
Road Closed Ahead

from flickr user Trina ~
A sight that I, along with thousands of Minnesotans are becoming accustomed to, are a litany of road closed signs and barricades. This one from the Red River of the North, seems rather obvious given that the sign is in the water. While roads in the Red River Valley will likely remain submerged for some time, roads in the Minnesota River Valley are slowly beginning to open.
Minnesota Slip bridge

This looks a little unreal, but honestly, nothing but a polarizer. It was a gorgeous North Shore day.
And no matter what Paul Douglas would have us believe with his forecast of inches of snow Friday night, spring is indeed here.
Closed for the Day

Sportsmen's Barber Shop in the Mac-Groveland neighborhood of St. Paul, Minnesota. Taken through the window late at night.
This comes to you via the MinnPics pool on Flickr. Get my attention and add your photos there too.
Minneapolis skyline 1981

from flickr user RamDriver
This is how the Minneapolis skyline looked in early 1981. Notice the yellow ribbon around the Foshay Tower to welcome home the American hostages from Iran. The taller building is the IDS building built in the early 1970s.

Minnesota Twins home opener at Target FIeld

from flickr user Woldfamily.net
The Minnesota Twins home opener is today at 3:10 PM at Target Field in Minneapolis. This is the beginning of the second season for the Minnesota Twins at their outdoor stadium. Hopefully they can beat the Oakland Athletics even after Twins second baseman Tsuyoshi Nishioka suffered a broken leg yesterday against the New York Yankees.
The above photo was taken during an August 15, 2010 game at Target Field.
Stairway to Wettened

Fun with parking garages. In Moorhead, Minnesota across the Red River from the equally wet Fargo, North Dakota.
Dead bicycle

from flickr user damonlynch
Judging by this mangled bike's proximity to the railroad tracks in this photo, I'd guess that the bike met its untimely demise due to a train. After all, trains don't exactly have free will and are, for the most part, tethered to their tracks.

Eagle's Nest Silhouette

The title says it all, far up in the crotch of the tree in the left half of this photo (toward the middle) is a massive eagle's nest.
Porky's Last Night

from flickr user John Pihaly
Hundreds of spectators line up to to get one last meal and watch car after car pay tribute to this St. Paul icon.
From KSTP: After 58 years on University Ave. in St. Paul, Porky's is closing its doors for good Sunday.
There was a long line of patrons outside the restaurant all day, waiting to get their hands on one of the last Twin burgers served, or to taste what some have called the best onion rings in town. Porky's has become a haven for antique car enthusiasts.
Owner Tryg Truelson expected the crowds and called the chef from his other restaurant to come help. Truelson is selling the restaurant to its neighbor, Episcopal Homes because of a drop in customers and 20-percent losses in revenue over the last three years. He say the lightrail construction on University Avenue was the nail in the coffin for Porky's.
