Duluth Flood - Duluth, MN 2012 from flickr user DMIR 321
One of the many washed out roads in West Duluth during the worst flash flood ever to hit the city of Duluth, MN.

Vermillion Road in Duluth looks like the city was the site of a major earthquake -- not the worst flash flood the city has ever seen -- if the totally fractured pavement is any indication.

Duluth Flood, Tischer Creek. It's crazy to me that underneath the pavement was this basalt rock, on the right hand side.

Duluth Flood, Tischer Creek - an underground culvert is exposed after a rather sizable gully was washed out during the Duluth flood.

Top of Vermilion Rd where Hawthorne crosses it in Duluth, MN. Water just pouring off the fractured concrete slab following the worst of the Duluth flood -- the worst the northern Minnesota city has ever seen after a total rainfall totaling over ten inches in many parts of the area.

I'm sure that after a natural disaster of this magnitude there is a need for assistance of many forms but likely the best way to help those affected by the Duluth, MN flood is to donate to the Red Cross. In fact, for anyone purchasing a print from my online store in the next week (orders placed by midnight of June 27, 2012) I will donate 25% of the purchase price (excluding shipping fees) to the Red Cross. I have extended family in Duluth and the city is one of my favorite vacation spots in the state of Minnesota. Let's all do something to help those in Duluth.
