Mickey's Diner Minneapolis
from flickr user Kyle Krug
Taken October 24, 2012, this photo outside of Mickey's Diner in Minneapolis is the most true example of outside looking in. I'd hate to assume that the man standing outside looking in is homeless but the feeling of sadness and loneliness from this photo is overwhelming. It is nothing short of a study in contrasts - the haves and the have-nots. The fact that it is done in black and white only adds to the sad and lonely feeling this photo conveys. October was a tough month to choose a "best of" but this is definitely the right choice in my eyes.

Mickey's in Minneapolis? Don't you mean St. Paul?
